Is the hotel venue licensed for Civil Ceremony?

We have a variety of function rooms that are fully licensed by the Oxfordshire registry office in which you can hold your civil ceremony. This is great for keeping things easy and having every aspect of your wedding under one roof! All you need to do is contact the Oxfordshire registry office to book you date, time and registrar to conduct your legal ceremony.


How long can I provisionally hold a date for?

It is important to me that you do not feel rushed into booking this important day, hence why I am happy to hold a date for up to 2 weeks without a deposit or confirmation to give you time to decide and get into the details!


Is confetti permitted?

Absolutely! Your guests are welcome to throw bio-degradable or petal confetti outside. However, confetti is not permitted inside the venue.


Are fireworks permitted?

Due to the venue’s surroundings of wildlife and residents, we do not currently allow fireworks.


Is external catering an option?

You are more than welcome to provide your wedding cake but all other food and refreshments will be catered by our own fantastic chefs.


What time will our evening reception need to finish?

On a Friday and Saturday, the private bar and music will shut down at 1am, any other night, curfew is midnight. However, at the discretion of the duty manager, the main hotel bar is open for you to carry on the celebrations (available for in-house guests only). Our bars accept both cash and card.


Are there any décor restrictions?

Naked flames are permitted during the wedding breakfast, however, not during the evening reception, so you are welcome to provide LED candles for this part. For any décor at a height, an external supplier with public liability insurance will have to be on hand to do any of this. The day before your wedding, you are more than welcome to leave any little extras with us such as gifts, favours and decorations. Our team will be happy to set the room up for you on the day so you can simply relax and look forward to the celebrations.


Do you have a list of trusted suppliers?

We have built a great relationship with professional and trustworthy bands, DJ’s, photographers and many more. I can send these over to you or they can be found on our website. You can use our recommended suppliers or you are welcome to bring in your own.


How many car parking spaces do you have?

Over 150 complimentary parking spaces!


Are drones permitted?

We are happy for you to use a drone to record your ceremony outside. Please speak with me to discuss the use of drones in more detail.


What happens to our belongings at the end of the night? 

Once your wedding day has drawn to a close, our team will store any belongings from the room overnight, for you to collect the following morning. Please do provide a list of ‘items to be saved’, this may include copies of your menus, place cards and seating plan. They’ll be lovely memories to treasure of the wedding day!


Do you cater for dietary requirements? 

Of course! We tend to take the menu you have chosen and we will work with our chefs to adapt this to suit any dietary requirement, if this is not possible, then those guests will receive a dish that suits.


What furniture and tableware do you provide as standard? 

Included in the packages we provide everything from the tables and chairs to the glassware, crockery and cutlery! We also provide complimentary use of a cake stand and knife, sound system, dancefloor and easels.


Does the venue have disabled access? 

Yes. Most of our function spaces and bedrooms are on the ground floor anyway, but if not, there is a lift, ramp or stairlift. We also have two accessible toilets at either ends of the hotel as well as four accessible bedrooms.


How do we secure our wedding date? 

An agreement contract will be signed by both yourselves and the hotel to confirm the date. Then, a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of £1,000 is required. No further payments are required until three months prior to the wedding, which is a further 50% payment. Then all final payments are required four weeks prior to the wedding date.

Hotel Reopening

We are delighted to welcome guests back to voco Oxford Thames.

Our new Napiers Restaurant is open for breakfast Monday-Friday 7-10am - Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 7-10.30am. Then for all-day service from 12pm - 9pm daily.
Room service is also available.

Our gym facilities, indoor swimming pool and spa pool are available for residential guests only, however our sauna, steam and treatment areas will remain closed until further notice.

We have been awarded the Visit England Industry Standard ‘We’re Good to Go’ for meeting government and industry COVID-19 guidelines.
